Brien O’Brien is the Founder of Port Capital and serves as the Chairman and CEO. Brien leads the investment management of the firm’s US Small Cap and All Cap strategies.

Prior to establishing Port Capital in 2015, Brien co-founded and spent 25 years as Chairman and CEO, of a $12.5 billion investment management firm based in Chicago, which invested across the global equity markets.

Brien graduated with honors from Boston College with a B.S. in Finance and Theology.

Brien holds the position of Trustee at the University of Chicago and is also a Trustee at Boston College, where he serves as a member of the Investment Committee. Additionally, Brien is Vice Chair of the de Beaumont Foundation in Bethesda, Maryland which focuses on public health initiatives in our communities.
